Meet Thomas Coyle MNZM
Newly appointed Member of New Zealand Order of Merit (MNZM) - recognised on the Kings Birthday Honours List for 2024 for his work within Forensic Science.
Tom began his career back in 1988 at New Scotland Yard in London. He gained expert status in the identification of persons by finger, palm and footprints.

Tom was employed by London Metropolitan Police Service for 18 years and New Zealand Police Service for 13 years as a Senior Fingerprint Expert and Specialist Crime Scene Examiner.
​
Tom has dedicated the past five years as an Independent Expert for civil and criminal courts. A member of the Independent Forensic Practitioners Institute (IFPI), and The Forensic Group Ltd, he actively provides unbias re-examination of evidence for the courts. Currently, Tom is advancing his career overseas with Independent Forensic Services, where he continues to contribute to the field of fingerprint analysis with professionalism and expertise.

​Along with his wife, Allie, they own and operate www.forensicinsight.co.nz providing a real-life insight into crime scene examinations. As Facilitators for the Ministry of Education, Tom and Allie introduce the world of Forensic Science into schools and colleges.
