Do I need fingerprints for Immigration?

Yes, you are likely to need fingerprints for immigration because many countries require them to verify identity and conduct background checks

Where do I get fingerprints for an FBI check?

Forensic Insight Ltd: This company offers fingerprinting services from offices in Albany, Auckland; Elsthorpe, Hawkes Bay; and Sockburn, Christchurch. We have the FD1164 and FD258 cards available.

What forms do I need for fingerprinting?

Most countries will accept our generic NZ Police approved fingerprint form. However, some countries have their own specific forms ie Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore, USA, South Africa, Kenya, Bahrain, Indonesia, Philippines, Thailand. We have access to most of these forms. 

What do I need to bring to my fingerprint appointment?

You will need to bring your Passport, Driving Licence and any forms provided to you by the requesting authorities (ie AFP form, Australia)

What if my fingerprints are difficult to capture?

Our fingerprint specialists are trained to capture high-quality impressions even from worn or damaged ridges. If required, we can complete multiple attempts to ensure acceptable clarity.

Do NZ Police stations still take fingerprints for the public?

Most NZ Police stations no longer offer public fingerprinting services. Forensic Insight is an NZ Police  authorised private provider offering fast, accurate ink fingerprints for all countries.
